    Just saying Hello

    Thursday, December 4, 2008, 01:01 AM [General]

Not much of a Blogger, more of a commentator. Just want to say Hello and hope everyone is doing fine and maintaining their Sanity. I was over on S/C and nobody has been there for hours. Gerry up and quit. Hope he finds his way here. I'm gonna spend more time and patience surfing this site. I still like S/C because all I ever do is type. I probably like it here too. No pictures uploading or downloading. So its not much of a difference to me. Thanks for reading and have a nice night...Peace...

    Hooray for national cookie day

Wednesday, December 3, 2008, 09:55 PM CST [General]

Its national ccookie day. Whats your favorite?

National Cookie Day -- There's more going on inside your cookie jar than meets your taste buds. In fact, psychologists have discovered that the way your cookie crumbles reveals the flavor of your personality, says family therapist Jim Franklin.

    • Chocolate Chip -- You're as American as apple pie, and you're raising your kids with the traditional values you treasure. Your low-key approach to life makes you a favorite with family and friends because you bring a steadying influence to the most chaotic situations.
    • Ginger Snaps -- You're bold, brave and in search of excitement. Life is never dull when you're around, and both kids and adults are attracted by your zest for life. You never shy away from new adventures, leading a happy band of friends and family who'll gladly follow you anywhere.
    • Graham Crackers -- You're softhearted and kind with a taste for nostalgia. You have many fond memories of your childhood, and your closet is probably stuffed with keepsakes from years gone by. But you don't dwell on the past because you're too busy making memories today.
    • Vanilla Wafers -- You have uncanny intuitive powers that give you the unique ability to size up a situation or a person with breathtaking accuracy. Loved ones caught up in complex problems often turn to you for advice because they know you'll steer them in the right direction.
    • Sandwich Cookies -- Whether you eat the creme filling first or dunk them in milk, your choice says you're a creative person with a vivid imagination. A born storyteller, you're often the center of attention at parties, regaling your pals with funny, sometimes outrageous, tales.
    • Fig Newtons -- Quiet, reserved and mature, your keen mind makes you a force to be reckoned with. You always have your "ducks in a row," and your organizational skills assure your home and job are both running smoothly. Just don't forget, spontaneity is a good thing too.
    • Sugar Cookies -- You're a nonconformist who believes that variety is the spice of life. Your avid interest in a multitude of subjects, teamed with your antiestablishment sensibility, makes you a challenging companion. You may not always take the safe path, but there's no doubt that life with you is never dull.
    • Oatmeal -- As homespun and down-to-earth as a comfy pair of slippers, you're a genius at making others feel loved. Your family and friends blossom under the warmth of your generous spirit, while your practical approach to problems helps you find the best route to a solution that satisfies everyone involved.
    • Shortbread -- You present a placid face to the world, but beneath your calm facade beats the heart of a passionate romantic. In fact, those closest to you would be amazed by your colorful fantasy life. Once you've found the right partner, you're able to give this untapped side free rein with totally satisfying results.

FAMILY OF BLACK FRIDAY WALMART TRAMPLED MAN SUES

Wednesday, December 3, 2008, 10:52 PM EST [General]

You KNEW it was coming but it's finally official. The family of the man trampled to death on Black Friday at a Long Island Walmart is suing.

They filed a wrongful death lawsuit on Wednesday, claiming store ads offering deep discounts "created an atmosphere of competition and anxiety" that led to "crowd craze."

The lawsuit claims that besides failing to provide adequate security for a pre-dawn crowd estimated at 2,000, Wal-Mart "engaged in specific marketing and advertising techniques to specifically attract a large crowd and create an environment of frenzy and mayhem and was otherwise careless, reckless and negligent."

    Lakers 15-2 !

Wednesday, December 3, 2008, 07:50 PM PST [General]

There is no place like home. The boo's are gone, Philly has embraced Kobe Bryant and he made sure they got what they came for.

Kobe Bryant tormented his hometown team again, scoring 32 points to help the Los Angeles Lakers rebound from a last-second loss with a 114-102 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night.

Lakers coach Phil Jackson said before the game that the thrill of playing in his home city has worn off for Bryant. But the reigning MVP appeared to enjoy every big 3-pointer that pushed back the Sixers and gave Los Angeles a boost.

The Lakers improved to 15-2 one night after they lost in Indiana on a late tip.

Los Angeles never let the middling Sixers get too close in this one. Philadelphia was within six in the third quarter when Derek Fisher and Bryant nailed 3-pointers that ballooned the lead to double digits.

Andre Miller scored 26 points and Andre Iguodala had 19 for the Sixers, who played the entire fourth quarter and the last 4 minutes of the third without Elton Brand.

The Sixers said Brand had a strained right hamstring - one reason he was limited to three points on 1-for-7 shooting in 25 ineffective minutes. Brand will be evaluated on Thursday.

The wildly inconsistent Sixers hoped to get their groove back after a 103-95 overtime win at Chicago on Tuesday. Again, they couldn't get Iguodala, Miller and Brand going offensively at the same time. They lost for the fourth time in five games and haven't won consecutive games since Nov. 21-23.

Team president Ed Stefanski said before the game he wasn't shocked the Sixers are having trouble adjusting to new roles that came with Brand's free-agent arrival.

Brand, though, was signed to deliver big games against teams like the Lakers. The Sixers can't afford a serious injury to Brand if they want to make a move in the East.

With Brand on the bench, guard Lou Williams tried to rally the Sixers in the fourth. He scored all 15 of his points in the quarter and made three 3s, including two straight that pulled Philadelphia to 101-91.

Hearing some faint chants of "MVP!'' mixed in with the usual Philly boos, Bryant sank a pair of free throws at the 2-minute mark that gave the Lakers a 108-97 lead, then followed with a spinning, right-handed layup that put the game away. Just for fun, he drilled a 3 the next time down and appeared to stare at Philly's bench.

With less than a minute left, Iguodala decided to guard Bryant as though Game 7 of a playoff series was tied. Bryant was called for a push-off foul, and what was left of the crowd howled at the late-game theatrics.

Notes: Phillies SS Jimmy Rollins was at the game. ... The 76ers lost their third straight at home. They didn't lose more than two in a row at home all of last season. ... The 76ers are 2-4 in the second game of back-to-backs.

    NO LLORES POR MI ARGENTINA

Wednesday, December 3, 2008, 10:45 PM EST [General]

    NO LLORES POR MI, ARGENTINA

Argentina, jueces y funcionarios corruptos, narcopolicias, diputados y médicos truchos.

Aprendamos a decir no!!!!

Wednesday, December 3, 2008, 08:34 PM MST [General]

No s@#t there I was: Estrella '07, the Hadrian's Wall debacle---I mean battle. Took a running spear thrust from one of the guys in that hoplite unit that you always see there. I simultaneously lost my spear and went airborne and flew back Odin only knows how far. Took a half hour after the battle was over to find my spear. Didn't even know I was bleeding until several people freaked. It was only a flesh wound, though!
